TOPEKA, Kan. -- Saturday night's Ichabod basketball team's alumni game scheduled for 6 p.m. in Lee Arena has been canceled. The Ichabods will take on the UNLV Runnin' Rebels on Tuesday in Las Vegas at 9 p.m. CST.

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues recorded their 10th win of the season in a 3-2 victory over Missouri Southern in Joplin. The Lady Blues will wrap up the 2009 season when they play host to Missouri Western at 6 p.m. in Yager Stadium on Saturday night. It will be the final game for Keeley Lambeth, Lauren Lawless, Ashley Taylor and Angela Wiseman of their Lady Blues career.

The Washburn volleyball team had two players named to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Third Team. Senior Kate Hampson and sophomore Mollie Lacy were named to the District 7 College Division Third Team.

The Washburn Lady Blues soccer team will wrap up the 2009 season their final road trip to Joplin, Mo., to face Missouri Southern (4-14-0, 2-12-0 MIAA) on Thursday and then return home to Yager Stadium for the season finale and senior night as they will play host to Missouri Western (8-9-2, 6-7-2 MIAA) at 6 p.m.

The Washburn Lady Blues basketball team was tabbed at No. 18 in the USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll which was released today. The Lady Blues finished 13th in the final poll of the 2008-09 season. Washburn will open the exhibition season this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the University of Iowa. The Lady Blues will travel to Stillwater, Okla. to take on Oklahoma State on Tuesday before opening the regular season on Nov. 21 when they will face Southwestern (Kan.) at 7 p.m.

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The ninth-ranked Washburn volleyball squad cruised to a 3-0 win over Missouri Southern on Tuesday night at the Young Gymnasium. Washburn took the match with set scores of 25-13, 26-24, 25-18. The Lady Blues will be back in action this Friday when they host Southwest Baptist at 7 p.m.

The Washburn Ichabods will wrap up the regular season as they travel down the interstate for the Turnpike Tussle with Emporia State on Saturday with a 1 p.m. kickoff from Welch Stadium. The Ichabods (7-3, 5-3 MIAA) have won the last five in the series with the Hornets, who enter the game with a 2-8 overall mark with a 1-7 record in conference play.
