Washburn fans can now follow the Ichabods and Lady Blues on twitter. Twitter gives members of the Washburn sports information office to provide real-time updates and quick notes - known as tweets - to fans who are signed up on their cell phones.

TOYOTA CITY, Japan – The United States shot 6-under par to catch Argentina for first place at the TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup supported by JAL. Argentina has either led or shared the tournament lead thru the first three rounds. The tournament was suspended for one hour and 57 minutes after the day’s final group teed off on the 10th hole.

NORMAN, Okla. – Matt Ewald was one of two NCAA Division II golfers to be named to the 20-member 2009 All-Nicklaus Team announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Players from Division I, II, III and the NAIA were recognized for their outstanding play during the past collegiate season. Ewald received first team All-American honors at the conclusion of the Division II Championships.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn Ichabod golfer Matt Ewald, who spent much of his senior season ranked as the No. 1 golfer in NCAA Division II earning NCAA PING All-American honors, was named to the 2009  CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Men's At-Large team which was announced today. Ewald is the first Ichabod golfer since Chris McGown following the 2005 season to be named to the team.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn Lady Blues head basketball coach Ron McHenry has announced the addition of four new student-athletes who will join the program this fall. The Lady Blues are coming off a 27-5 season and a No. 13 final national ranking, in which they made the school's eighth straight NCAA tournament appearance.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn head basketball coach Bob Chipman has announced Mitch Allen, a 5-8, 160-pound guard from Sabetha, Kan., has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Ichabods this fall. He joins fellow prep standouts Bobby Chipman and Bryce Simons, both of Topeka and Jordan Lambkins of Labette County who signed earlier in the spring.
