MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Washburn Lady Blues tennis season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA North Central Regional Tournament with a 5-3 loss to Emporia State. The Lady Blues were making their sixth straight NCAA appearance and 12th overall. Washburn finishes the season with a 12-7 overall record.

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The No. 14 ranked Washburn Ichabod golf team reached their second straight and their fifth in the last six seasons with a 13-stroke victory at the NCAA Division II Men's Central Regional Tournament. Washburn will now travel to Houston, Texas for the 46th Annual Men's Division II Championships which will be played May 14-17.

EMPORIA, Kan. -- Because of overnight and continued rain through much of the Emporia area, the start of the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament has been pushed back until Thursday. The Lady Blues and the Hornets are scheduled to now play Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn's Diana Goldsmith repeated as the MIAA's Most Valuable Player as voted on by the conference's coaches which was released today by the conference office. Goldsmith will lead the Lady Blues into action tomorrow as they open NCAA Regional Tennis action against Emporia State on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. in Maryville, Mo.

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn Lady Blues head basketball coach Ron McHenry has announced the addition of five new student-athletes who will join the program this fall. The Lady Blues are coming off a 26-7 season and a No. 5 final national ranking in which they reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The No. 14 ranked Washburn Ichabod golf team will take a 21-shot advantage into the final round of the NCAA Central Regional Tournament. Washburn shot a team score of 1-under 287 placing their combined score for two rounds at 9-over. Missouri Western is the closest competitor at 30-over for the event recording a team score of 300 in the second round.

The Washburn Lady Blues enter their second NCAA North Central Regional in the last three seasons when they travel down the Kansas Turnpike for postseason play in Emporia, Kan. The Lady Blues are the No. 8 seeded team in the regional and will play top seeded and nationally ranked No. 21 Emporia State on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
