All-MIAA release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn senior setter
Kate Hampson and sophomore middle hitter
Mollie Lacy were named to the All-MIAA First Team as the conference awards were announced Wednesday. Five Lady Blues in all were honored.
Hampson led Washburn with 1,368 assists, pushing her career total to 5,816, the most in school history and second on the MIAA's career list. Lacy led the Lady Blues with 358 kills and led the MIAA with a .413 hitting percentage. This was Hampson's third all-MIAA award and the second for Lacy.
Sophomore
Breanna Lewis was honored for the first time in her career as she was named to the second team as a rightside hitter. She was second on Washburn's team with 269 kills. Lewis had a .355 hitting percentage and led the team in blocking averaging 0.73 blocks per set.
Junior outside hitter
Ashley Shepard was a third team selection for the second straight year. Shepard had 258 kills on the season.
Junior libero
Molly Smith earned honorable mention accolades for the second time in her career after leading the Lady Blues with 529 digs and averaging 4.41 digs per set.
