TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn head basketball coach
Bob Chipman has announced
Mitch Allen, a 5-8, 160-pound guard from Sabetha, Kan., has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Ichabods this fall. He joins fellow prep standouts
Bobby Chipman and
Bryce Simons, both of Topeka and
Jordan Lambkins of Labette County who signed earlier in the spring.
Allen averaged 14 points, seven assists as a senior for the Bluejays as a senior earning first team all-Big Seven honors. He also was named first team Class 3A all-state and he will play in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game. Allen was also named to the KBCA's All-Academic All-State team. He was also a first team all-league quarterback and defensive back earning first team all-state honors on defense.
