Washburn Season Stats | NCAA Release and National Bracket

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Washburn Ichabod tennis team received an at-large bid for its 12th NCAA postseason appearance and the first since the 2009-10 season as they were selected as the No. 3 team in the Central Region. The Ichabods will travel to Maryville, Mo., to face the No. 2-seeded Northwest Bearcats. The match is scheduled for Saturday and the time will be announced later. The winner of the match will advance to the NCAA National Tournament in Surprise, Ariz., May 8-11.

The Ichabods and the Bearcats squared off on April 10 in a 5-2 match played in St. Joseph, Mo., indoors. The Ichabods were up in two matches which were not finished at the time the Bearcats reached the clinching fifth point.

The Ichabods are 2-2 against the Bearcats in NCAA Tournament play, but the teams have not met since a May 9, 2008 meeting with the Ichabods winning 5-2 in Maryville and advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the third time in school history.
